Maurizio Battifora

Battifora lives and paints in Los Angeles. He considers his mostly empirical style to be contemporary-whimsical, influenced by Renaissance and Baroque artists. He was encouraged by art professor Edwin Montalvo while studying in Miami and in 2008 he developed his labor-intensive pointillist technique. In Miami, he established a studio for the first part of his career. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2017 and is presenting his new series of acrylic on canvas paintings, called "M.A." inspired by the polarizing & mythological Marie Antoinette.
"My technique is mostly empirical, instinctive and based on observation. Every painting is a new challenge, a new experience that starts with a dream, followed by a collage of images that I put together."
Battifora has participated in multiple art shows in the US and has been invited again to the International Biennale Of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy in 2019.
His paintings are in private collections in Europe & the U.S.
