Location: Denmark

I was born in 1967 in Denmark close to the Danish - German border. My father is German and my mother Danish. My father was an independent architect, and it was really my dream to become an architect like my father, but I was only passionate about drawing, so when I was 21, I was so drawn to drawing and painting that I chose to Make the art of my life. It was a categorical decision, and art and philosophy really became my life, my rescue and great happiness in a life characterized by illness and accidents, alongside great happiness, love, spirituality and travel. All in all, a fantastic life, which I am happy to express in my art. Therefore, the headline of my art is inevitable: "The art and life" and I insist on the relevance of the subjectivity in art.

The art and life

I was born in 1967 in Denmark close to the Danish - German border. My father is German and my mother Danish. The gift “The gift”

The painting: The gift ”- oil on canvas 100 x 80 cm. marks a drastic shift in life. It is the feeling of the uncertainty you are faced with when something is finished and something new is about to begin. Have you been gifted by the past or is it a burdensome package that you are now entering into the next room - the next phase of life? The two roses are aggressively twisting as two snakes that will attack each other, or as two sharp sentences of opposites. In the corner is a closed cupboard that may contain the secrets of life. It is all from the bottom to give a sense of the lack of overview or the spiritual space that opens up in a rose formation in the ceiling.

Me and my rose “Me and my rose”

The painting: "Me and my rose" - Oil on canvas 100 x 80 cm. is a painting that, besides being a self-portrait, also tells about the contemporary person's presence in several rooms at the same time. Where we are physically located is not necessarily the same place where we act. We can actually be in different rooms at the same time. That it is just a rose I have between my hands is related to my relationship with the rose as a symbol of life. Life is beautiful but has thorns, because only in suffering does passion give meaning. It must hurt a little to be really good. The rose is both the flower of love, whose inner form has great similarities to the female genitals, but with the symbol of martyrdom, as well as an immediate reference to Mary worshiped by the Rosary and Jesus crowned with a crown of thorns, and last but not least, It is closely connected to the blood both by its color and its thorns. So with my great interest in life, the rose is an inevitable content in my world of images.

There is something about everything “There is something about everything”

The painting: "There is something about everything" - Oil on canvas 100 x 80 cm. I have painted as an expression of the feeling of lack of clarity, which one is hit by the moment you weaken a little. The detail of laws and paragraphs as well as new knowledge is as difficult to see as the detail of this painting. There is so much that you are almost attacked by it. There is simply something about everything - It's just not everything that is important!

Contemporary shopping “Contemporary shopping”

In this painting: “ Contemporary shopping” Here I seek to capture the very concept of Contemporary shopping. Where we previously met each other in the stores and trading was a personal relationship between seller and buyer, we are now left to ourselves when we shop. Want to know if it makes us happier?

Beat it “Beat it”

The painting: “Beat it” - Oil on canvas 60 x 50 cm. was was a reaction that I felt unfairly treated and decided to resist but at the same time we now have political election in Denmark, and inspired by one of my old cartoon drawings from my teenage years, I painted this painting.
