Monique Ortiz Monasterio is a young, self-taught artist based in Mexico. She is well known for her use of vivid colors and a particular abstract style that transports you to a world full of imagination and color. She is always searching for new techniques and transforming them to give a unique style and personal touch. Her grandparents, Luis Ortiz Monasterio and Helga Meissner, artists who influenced her from a young age to continue the legacy of art in the family and make it something of her own. She had a tough childhood, which deviated her from the excitement and inspiration toward art for a long time. Now, after a 15 year absence, she found renewed inspiration in her hometown Mexico, and started a very exciting journey in to the world of art.
