Lauren Henry believes we are linked together with the natural world and with all creation. The invisible bond that connects us is the source of her inspiration. She uses thick, layered applications of paint to achieve a textured, tactile and living sense of form, inviting us to reach out and connect to the trees, rocks, water and inhabitants of this world. She is interested in creating a feeling rather than a replication of nature.
She grew up close to nature in Northern Ontario, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and studied Illustration and Graphic Design. Lauren Henry has been exhibiting professionally, in galleries, art festivals and shows since 2005. Her work can be found in corporate and private collections across the country.
