Cristian Blei is a Romanian contemporary visual artist, b. in 1974 in Bucharest.
He began drawing and painting at a young age, drawn to the expressive qualities of color and shape.
Growing up in a family of visual artists, he was exposed to art from an early age, which ultimately led him to pursue a career in the arts.
During his period of training, he had the opportunity to learn from numerous talented artists and teachers.
Through his interactions with them, he developed both technical skills and a deeper understanding of the art world, ultimately refining his own unique artistic vision.
He explored a wide range of artistic techniques and mediums, to bring diverse subjects and themes to life.
Yet, he consistently returned to the classic oil technique, mastering the art of layered colors to create rich, nuanced effects.
One of his signature approaches is the judicious use of gold leaf in his oil paintings, which adds depth, complexity, and a touch of refinement to his works.
