Glenda L. McCune was born in Hamburg, Arkansas, on May 19th 1950, to the parents of Mr. George Winthrop Lewis and Carrie McLamore Lewis. She discovered her artistic talent in the sixth grade, while attending Pine Street Elementary School. She would doodle, in class, her classmates would compliment her on her drawings, and it made her feel good..
With the God given talent she has, Her teacher would have her draw pictures of famous black people like George Washington Carver, Louis Pasteur, etc: for her bulletin board. she

Glenda, chose to pursue Art Education, as her Major. She attended A & M college, Monticello Arkansas. She received her Bachelors Degree, from A M & N college in Pine Bluff Arkansas, Masters in Elementary Education, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She taught Art at Jacksonville High School, for 37 years.
