Born in 1989 in the small town of Plant City, Florida, Matthew Rentz is an unknown to the art world as it is. With practically no formal training he is a naive/ self-taught painter who aspires to inspire others.
The work I present in this portfolio is from my interest in the techniqe known as "Blind Contour". I wanted to explore more of this often neglected technique.
This mural is at a childrens' home in Belize that I visited as a member of a small non-profit group to help with some of the work that needed to be done there as well as learn more about the country. It is the entranceway to the children's home, done with tempora paint. I hope to visit the site again in the future to add more or to paint another mural.
