Dr. Hadi Ghafourian is an Iranian-Australian artist and physician currently based in Hungary. His interest in surrealism began during his youth, when he created his first series of surrealist paintings between 1977 and 1979.

After a long career in medicine and nuclear medicine, he returned to painting nearly five decades later, reconnecting with the artistic imagination that had remained with him throughout his life.

His work explores surrealism through symbolic imagery, memory, human experience, nature, dreams, and the relationship between reality and imagination. Rather than simply reproducing the visible world, he seeks to create scenes that invite the viewer to discover a personal meaning beyond what is immediately seen.

Now approaching a new chapter in his life, he is developing a new collection of surrealist paintings and seeking opportunities to exhibit his work internationally, including in the United States.

He also hopes that proceeds from the sale of selected artworks can contribute  50% to charitable causes supporting orphaned and disadvantaged children around the world.
