Graziano Ferrari
was born in Milan in 1958. His gift for drawing and painting is revealed early
on but before he realizes the opportunity to turn it into passion will be many
years. It is in fact at the time of university studies that he realizes that his
way is another. But he does not choose to attend the Academy because he fears,
wrongly or rightly, of being "infected" in his research, the lessons
a little traditional that were the most popular in those days. His scientific
training led him to a trial without constraints, ranging in every direction
leads to the inspiration of the moment. The materials are extremely varied and
widens its horizon venturing into sculpture. In the early 80s he started
attending the studies of some more experienced painters from which derives
valuable technical elements it uses to integrate its research. The first shows
the reveal an unknown world in which traditional idealism of youth are exposed
one by one, but they give, at the same time, the opportunity to meet with others
who, like him, seek his own way. Born of partnerships that will last until
today. In the 90s, in collaboration with Pedotti and Giannantonio painters, he
founded a group called the Europio and, as long as he could maintain, it was
proposed as an artistic research station (referring to those scientific
outposts which explore new worlds) . This course contributes to the definition
of a personal style initially figurative but that soon gives way to
increasingly abstract forms up to the informal. A growing dissatisfaction,
legacy of personal stories, it does stop for a few years until it resumes with
the study of the techniques of the recent past and away. From this is born a
new trend he calls "divisionism not projective" and is the
pointillist technique confluence, in particular of Previati, and informal.
