James C. Swartz is a professional Visual Artist working in Toronto. Urban, rural and industrial landscapes have long been a subject of intrigue for James. His imagery explores the intricate link between society and nature, combining the raw elements of growth, development, desertion and decay into eloquent, highly expressive visions that find beauty and humanity in the most unlikely of places. James draws inspiration from artists of all periods and from the world around him as he explores the landscape of nature and humanity intimately. As an Artist in Residency in France in 2011, James furthered his studies in European art.
