Frida Narin was born in 1983 in Mariwan, Iranian Kurdistan. A multidisciplinary artist—painter, poet, and writer—she published her first poetry collection in 2004, followed by a second book in 2015. Opposed to the Iranian regime, she fled Iran in 2007, lived in Iraqi Kurdistan, then settled in France in 2009. Her work, often focused on the condition of Kurdish women and the quest for freedom, spans painting and socially engaged writing.
