Karen grew up along the South Carolina coast, and attended Clemson University, where she received a degree in Business Management. Most of her adult life has been spent living up and down I-85: Greenville/Spartanburg, SC, Atlanta, GA, and currently in Charlotte, NC. Her love of creating art began in high school with a wonderful art teacher, “Mr. Gore”. She always maintained her love of art and interior design through the years, but placed “creating” it on hold after marrying and having two fabulous sons. While living in Atlanta, she decided to pick up the brush again, experimenting with turning one of her great passions into a career choice. Currently, and for the last several years she has studied at Braitman Studio in Charlotte with not only an extremely gifted artist, but also a fabulous friend and mentor, Andy Braitman. When not painting she enjoy watching her sons play sports, and following her beloved Clemson Tigers and Carolina Panthers! Also an avid exerciser, she taught cardio classes for twenty years, and enjoys photography.
