Natalia Rose is a Danish artist known for her expressive semi-abstract works which painted with broad and heavy brushstrokes. The artist raises questions about the nature of communication and the way in which one can express abstract ideas through colour and iconographic markings. Born in 1953 in Stavropol, Russia she studied at the Moscow State University and later at the University of Copenhagen. Over the past fifteen years Nataia has created a distinctive collection of works, characterized by strong primary colors and interplay between the formally composed and the spontaneous and gestural style .
In 2014 the artist held her first solo exhibition in Copenhagen and since exhibited in New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Dubai, Zurich, London. Today, her works are held in the private collections across world, in USA, Canada, Spain, Sweden among others. Cand. Phil. (Master of Arts) Natalia Rose is a member of La Société académique ARTS-SCIENCES-LETTRES, Paris France and Billedkunstnernes Forbund BKF (Visual Artists Association of Denmark). Abstract works 2015-2026
Calais” is a depiction of human tragedy. I convey my perception of the European refugee crisis to show how dreams of freedom and the yet-to-be-experienced concept of human flourishing collide with reality. In a wider perspective, it speaks to chaos on multiple levels.

It is all about Freedom, Good Life, Vacation and Wonderful Colors
My concept is well expressed in the abstract artwork "Uden Titel" made with acrylics on linen. The canvas looks like a tangle of colours and signs, freely drawn on the surface. In the background, a contrast between cold blue and warm yellow prevails, interspersed with black, which creates dynamism and rhythm. The patches of colour, seemingly randomly juxtaposed, instead create interesting shapes inspired by the natural world, such as butterflies and flower petals. Totally and deliberately in contrast to the variegated background, I draw letters according to the oriental alphabet. These are made in a fluid and clear way, bright red and perfectly legible. I prefer colour contrasts in my paintings.
