BIO

Born 1970 in Bremen, based in Düsseldorf. Self-taught painter exploring abstraction and experimental color techniques since 2024

After a career in event and creative management, I developed an intuitive, expressive style influenced by Expressionism, Biomorphism, and Color Field painting

Upcoming exhibitions include Dortmund (2026) and Cologne (2028).

ARTIST STATEMENT

My works emerge in the tension between abstraction and color explosion.

I mainly paint with silk dyes and acrylics, often combined with watercolor, gouache, or unconventional materials such as texture paste, colored pencils, and wax crayons.

I am fascinated by the freedom of mixing media, creating unexpected surfaces and atmospheres.

Portfolio:

Art by Christos – Abstract & Experimental Color

This portfolio presents a selection of my abstract works created with silk dyes, acrylics, and mixed media.

The paintings explore the tension between abstraction and color explosion, combining traditional and unconventional materials to create unexpected surfaces and atmospheres.

Each piece reflects an intuitive, expressive process where emotion and spontaneity take visual form.

Color Fields in Motion “Color Fields in Motion”

Created with silk paints, this work unfolds in intense reds, yellows, blues, and purples that create a field of force and motion. Purple here is more than just a color – it is a statement: it stands for creativity, elegance, and spirituality. The silk paints allow the colors to merge like cosmic orbits, evoking the birth of new worlds – an image radiating both energy and vastness.

Freedom in Color “Freedom in Color ”

Broad color fields of yellow, pink, violet, and turquoise meet without defined boundaries. Their transitions seem almost weightless and convey a sense of openness. The work celebrates the freedom of the unplanned and the play of color itself.

Crossroads of Light “Crossroads of Light”

Radiant lines intersect like a pulsating network of energy. The work thrives on movement and intensity, as if colors collide in space. It creates a sense of dynamism and constant exchange.

In the Ocean of Silence “In the Ocean of Silence”

Soft shades of blue overlap like flowing water. Gentle transitions create an atmosphere of calm and silence, almost meditative. A work that directs the gaze inward and conveys serenity.

Red Impulse “Red Impulse”

The dominant color red pulses like a heartbeat between abstract forms. Lines and surfaces overlap into a vibrating mesh. The work appears as an outburst of pure energy, condensed into a single moment.
