Tomeu Estelrich,
visual artist born in s’Alqueria Blanca, Mallorca, Spain (1968).

He began painting
as a self-taught artist. Throughout his career he has incorporated sculpture,
installation, video, engraving, ceramics and scenography into his productions.

He learned
engraving with Joan Barbarà, artist’s book with Mercedes Laguens, sculpture
with Estela Videla, drawing with Ricard Chiang, photography with Joan Vidal,
ceramics with Maria Ramis and followed various workshops with Joan Morey,
Santiago Morilla, Simon Zabell, Eva Figueres, Glòria Bordons and Manuela
Candini, among others.

His work is made
up of the collections: Natura Morta, Vitrals, Retorn a la Terra, Silenci,
Elles, Fashion Victim, El jardí de les chimeras, Bikes, Kaleidoscope, Donkeys,
El romi de venus, Boira, Liturgia and Miramar.

He creates the
sets for (remor) of the company «Res de res» which was awarded the most
prestigious award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2012 with the Total Theatre
Award for best physical and visual theatre creation.

He collaborates
with the magazines: Téntol, S’esclop, Pèl Capell, Un glop de brutor dins el
ventre and Pissarra. He is a member of the association Art amb B (Art amb
Baleària), where he participates in numerous individual and collective
exhibitions.

During the
creative process, Estelrich dialogues with his favorite writers. His style is
characterized by the use of bright colors and organic textures. His
installations question the relationship between humans and their environment.

In addition to his
extensive artistic career, Tomeu Estelrich is a teacher and trade unionist
committed to language and culture. He continues the tradition of Llorenç
Ginard, of meeting with the DIMECRES artists' collective, in Manacor.

He has exhibited
in Barcelona, ​​Manresa, in the Valencian Community (Torre
dels Ducs de Medinaceli, Els Poblets, Ondara, Pedreguer and at the Pego
d'Alacant Contemporary Art Museum), Galicia (Museo Man Camelle, Faro de Cabo
Vilán, Camariñas a Costa da Morte), and in the Balearic Islands, among other
places, at La Misericòrdia,
the Caixaforum in Palma, the Sa Nostra Foundation in Palma, the Archaeological
Museum of Ibiza and Formentera, the cloister of Maó, the Museum of Mallorca and the Es Baluard
Museum in Palma.
