Roxana Werner is a Chilean visual artist whose career spans more than four decades. Her work has been built on a solid academic foundation. Her art is defined by continuous and multidisciplinary training. Forty years of creation, study, and research have consolidated her unique visual language. As a textile designer, she learned the batik technique, an expression of Javanese art, working on the creation of wall tapestries. She entered the Catholic University of Santiago to study visual arts. Between 1998 and 2000, during a residency in Portugal, she attended Arco University in Lisbon. In 2013, she enrolled at the University of Chile to study Art Theory and History. Teaching occupies a central place in her career. From 1989 to 2000, she dedicated herself to teaching drawing, pastels, oil painting, and mixed media. Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions: UNESCO Paris (solo), La Fleur D'Or Paris (solo), Agora Gallery New York (group), as well as the Florence Biennales, 12th, 13th, and 15th editions. She has received awards, honorable mentions, and international critical acclaim. Her artistic career has been documented in books and specialized publications, both monographs and colectives.
