I am an alumna of National Institute of Fashion Technology and I passed out from my Alma Matar as Fashion Designer. After successfully working as Senior Fashion Designer, Brand Coordinator, Design coordinator etc with various prominent Design and Export houses in the Indian City of Joy of Kolkata, I have ventured into the “World of Arts” as an independent Artist. My artworks are detailed, intricate, intense and above all bloom with pure emotions. Hope you will nurture them with a lot of love.
Geisha is a traditional Japanese female performing artist and entertainer trained in classical arts like dance, music, conversation, and hosting. The word geisha means "person of the arts" in Japanese (gei meaning art, and sha meaning person). “The Geisha Story” is my rendition of the sensibilities, the feelings, the emotions of a woman who blooms, grows and flourish as beautiful artists performing this beautiful danceform. This artwork is in an asymmetric Mandala art form. Materials that I have used are Water colour, plastic, metal, pigment ink etc.
Flowers, Leaves, Tendrils, Buds, a Garden that allures everyone towards itself, is the theme of the artwork. The motifs are intricate, detailed and intense, mostly in black and white with a hint of background as well as foreground colours. With an asymmetric watercolour base, the motifs have been created with pigment ink colour.
Love should be nothing less than extraordinary, love should be Red, love should be Blood…….thats what I have tried to portrayed through my artwork. A love which as red as blood. The background has been extensively painted with Red watercolour and the motifs have been created with Black pigment Ink on paper. Certain hardwares have also been used like plastic pearls, stone stickers and metal.
A garden, flowers, leaves, buds, tendrils, butterflies, moths and a beautiful lady wandering inside looking for her favourite flower, looking for her favourite floral scent. That’s “Perfumed Garden.” The background colour has been asymmetrically painted with watercolour and at the foreground are the main subjects- The lady and her beautiful garde, created with Black pigment ink on paper. Also gateway sheets have been used to create certain 3-dimensional moths and butterflies.
A collage of memories, retrospectives, a woman’s life woven in dreams, beauty, wonders, mistakes and flaws. This collage artwork does that all.
