Vessel Geometry “Vessel Geometry”

This painting is a flat, not square acrylic painting on handmade canvas, which changes depending on where and how you look at it. What is in front and what is behind? Does the law of gravity apply? Is it built out through the wall? Is it flat? In visual arts we only learned about depth into the picture. What if the picture is trying to reach you, while at the same time the picture continues into the wall supported by a concrete structure. Where is the vase physically located. These questions and many more, are a task that you must see for yourself, if you can figure out your own way.

Acrylic on square canvas (80 cm) on a point with an optical illusion, which not only has depth far to the neighbor, but also reaches out towards you, so there is a difference in depth, where the painting changes when you walk past it.

What happened here? “What happened here?”

It matters where you look at this painting from, which is made on a handmade non-square canvas, which helps to enhance the perspective. When I moved to the northwestern part of Denmark I had to invent new perspective rules to get miles up below the horizon, while trying to get the foreground to move out of the canvas. I don't really know what hit the square column. What is in front of what, and behind ...

Gator’s Viewpoint “Gator’s Viewpoint”

Partially upholstered and embroidered Square canvas (80 cm) on point, prepared by hand. The story is in physical 3-D. It takes significantly longer to make the canvas than to paint (sewing speed 10 - 20 cm/hour). Although the embroidery is hidden, it has a great impact on the finished expression
