Diane Gelman

I had a long career in Food and Nutrition before transitioning to becoming an artist specializing in Food-based artwork.  I have a BS in Dietetics from Ohio University, a Master's Degree in Nutrition from the University of Cincinnati and a Certificate of Fine Arts in Painting from Glassell School of Art in 2012.  I work full time in my studio making mixed media artwork.

I have had multiple solo shows, created many private commissions, and created a 15'h x 30'w mural, "Equity for All", commissioned by Houston Midtown Management District in 2012.  I received an Individual Artist's Grant from the City of Houston for EAT!!, a solo show in Gallery 200, The Silos, April - May 2025.  I had 2 solo shows in 2023,  DELICIOUS!! February 3 - March 18, and Portraits:UP Close and Personal   August 1- 30 The Silos, featuring a collection of my mixed media Portraits.   In 2020, I made a monumental (130 feet wide) French Patisserie for a client's home on 5 panels.  Patisserie Larsen created the illusion of an authentic Parisian Patisserie with 3 dimensional tarts, cakes eclairs, macaron Tower and the families' favorite desserts.
