Taei Kim

Location:

Taei Kim is a contemporary mixed-media artist from South Korea based in Canada. Educated across three continents, she studied Visual Design at a university in Korea, completed the third-year program at the prestigious EPSAA (École Professionnelle Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques) in Paris, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ontario, Canada.

Deeply influenced by both Eastern philosophies and Western art techniques, her work explores themes of inner healing, surrealism, and spirituality. Her unique artistic voice harmonizes watercolor and digital painting, often weaving symbolic elements into introspective self-portraits.

In 2025, she was selected as a finalist in Artavita's 68th International Art Contest. Her digital piece Insomnia metaphorically captures the restless mind through layers of forest, moonlight, and sea, with a reflected moon subtly embedded in the eye, transcending time and space. Her watercolor painting Protecting portrays a peaceful vision where goldfish drift around a self-figure, guarded by a sculpture from her local city—an image of serene protection.
