Sandy Tracey

My acrylic work has been exhibited throughout the state of Arizona over the past 12 years. Now having relocated to the Denver area, I have been welcomed with several solo shows throughout the metropolitan area. I am looking forward to experimenting on different subject matter and techniques.

My 'Route 66' Series:
I have fun painting vintage cars that I have placed along recognizable places on Route 66. Some parts of older vehicles are interesting on their own, so I do ‘slices’ of my favorites.

My ‘Cactus of a Different Color’ Series:
Bold & bright interpretations of saguaro cactus, all inspired from my many years living in Arizona.

Route 66 Series

I have fun painting vintage cars that I have placed along recognizable places on Route 66. My pieces are usually very colorful, with just enough detail to identify the model & year of each vehicle. I have also found thats Some parts of older vehicles are interesting on their own, so I do ‘slices’ of my favorites.

Heavy Duty “Heavy Duty”

48" x 36" acrylic gallery wrap of a Ford truck. Just accepted to the Louisville National Art Show opening Saturday, August 30th at the Louisville Center or the Arts, Louisville, CO 80027

Lost in Time and Space “Lost in Time and Space”

48" x 36" acrylic gallery wrap of an older Mercury. This was painted for a themed show called "The Illusion of Reality". So I challenge everyone to take a close look at the reflective surfaces...each has a different image. The background is a drive-in diner, or is it? (Look through the rear window). And finally, the plate says turbo, but it could not have been made as a turbo. This was a fun piece to complete.

Pink Cadillac “Pink Cadillac”

12" x 12" acrylic gallery wrap of one of my favorite cars... love the song too!

Road Trip “Road Trip”

30" x 12" acrylic gallery wrap

'53 Corvette “'53 Corvette”

30" x 12" acrylic gallery wrap

Oatman Hotel “Oatman Hotel”

24" x 24" acrylic gallery wrap. This location is from Oatman, AZ, along Route 66. This small town is known for the free wanderings of burros throughout the city. It sometime is hard to drive down main street...

Wigwam Motel “Wigwam Motel”

24" x 24" acrylic gallery wrap. This is from the iconic Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ. Vintage cars & trucks are parked in front of these cement 'wigwams' that you can stay in while driving the Mother Road. Very retro!

Heart of a Lion “Heart of a Lion”

24" x 24" acrylic gallery wrap. A remnant of days gone by, this rusting truck is lost in the weeds at an abandoned gas station.

Cruisin' “Cruisin'”

40" x 30" acrylic/framed. I painted this to have two of my favorite subject matters in one piece... a classic car & a saguaro cactus!

BLWN6T9 “BLWN6T9”

20" x 40" acrylic gallery wrap. I saw this vehicle at a car show & just had to paint it!

Catalina “Catalina”

36" x 12" acrylic gallery wrap. A slice of a classic...

Route 66 “Route 66”

36" x 24" acrylic gallery wrap. Painted for a themed exhibition "Journeys and Jetties" in Tubac, AZ. This piece won teh Art Director's Award for fitting the theme the best.

Wing Tip “Wing Tip”

24" x 8" acrylic gallery wrap. Another 'slice' of heaven! This piece has been sold, but giclees are available.

Pony Up “Pony Up”
