Véronique Besançon has lived and worked in Montreal since 1997. She was born in Marrakech in 1959 to a French father and a Russian-Hungarian mother. In 1965, her family moved to Paris. As a young adult, fascinated by human beings, who challenged her with their complexity and essence, she pursued university studies in clinical psychology. Her interest in personal development led her to the field of education. She arrived in Montreal in 1997 for a university position and fell in love with Quebec. She continued her career as an educational technology consultant at the University of Montreal.
From a young age, she has developed her quest for meaning through artistic practices in contemporary dance, theatre, automatic writing and visual arts, favoring innovative artistic movements.
She exhibited her work for the first time in Montreal in 2008. Since then, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as artist residencies, in Canada, Asia, North Africa, Latin America, Europe, and New York. Her works are part of private and public collections in Canada, the United States, North Africa, and Europe. She documents her artistic journey through collections that blend paintings and poetry.éronique Besançon has lived and worked in Montreal since 1997.
