Jonathan López O’Neill is a contemporary artist raised in Puerto Rico and based in Miami. His practice explores movement, depth, and visual perception through geometric abstraction and fiber-based compositions. Using thread as both material and line, he creates dimensional works that shift with the viewer’s position, allowing color, tension, and structure to transform through movement. Influenced by his Caribbean background and his interest in optical and kinetic art, López O’Neill seeks to create an immediate visual connection between the artwork and the observer. His work is grounded in the belief that art should begin the conversation, while its meaning and context should deepen—rather than create—that connection.
