Ohio artist Dan Knepper grew up exploring the woodlands and quarries near his home. Those days started him down the path of his favorite subject matter. Trips to Glacier and Western Montana, as well as Yellowstone and the Tetons and Colorado made a transcendent change in his life and work. He realized THIS is what I want to paint.. these last wild places and the wildlife that inhabits them.

His work has won a very long list of accolades including Best Western and Best Water in Fine Art Connoisseur’s Plein Air Salon, 2^nd place in the Southwest Art’s Artistic Excellence. 2^nd Place in the Richeson 75 international landscape competition, 2^nd place in International Artist Magazine’s world-wide landscape competition, etc. It has been in Western Art and Architecture, Western Art Collector, American Art Collector, International Artist, Watercolor Artist, Plein Air Magazine, Southwest Art, etc
