Jody L. Miller

Even at an early age I have admired the power and strength
of a horse in movement.  How can an
animal that is so large and so powerful be so sensitive and so loving and so
soulful?

More than just documenting their
physical beauty, I strive to create images that stir the soul, evoking a sense
of connection and empathy. Whether it's the gentle trust in a quiet moment, the
fiery intensity of a gallop, or the quiet contemplation in a sunlit field, each
photograph is an attempt to translate the unspoken language of the equine
heart.

As an artist I hope you can sense your own feelings of
strength, of freedom, beauty, aliveness, passion, inspiration, self- assurance,
and poise, well up within you as you look at my work.

Making Pegasus

5 days at Making Pegasus in Lockwood, CA. The owner is looking to create to biggest, faster and most beautiful Horse and I'm on a journey to capture that on film.
Each day walking among the herd of over 200 horses was emotional and freeing- creating soulful images of Horses.

Revolution “Revolution”

Revolution is 1/2 Freisian and 1/2 Percheron. His presence is powerful and demanding but in this brief moment I caught him emerging from darkness as a gentle giant. Kind eyes and softness.

Love the Night Sky “Love the Night Sky”

This Pure Tobiano Saddlebred Stallion was adorned with small animal footprints which added a nice contrast to his dark coat.

Petrichor and Merlin Sparring “Petrichor and Merlin Sparring”

Petrichor (1/2 Warmblood and 1/4 Freisian and 1/4 Gypsy) was paying and sparring with his Stallion herd mate Merlin (1/2 Egyption Arabian 1/4 Freisian, 3/16 Shire and 1/16 Gypsy) Quite the crossbreeding going on here but these two Stallions enjoyed eachothers company.

Romeo with Blue Eyes “Romeo with Blue Eyes”

All I could see was the amaing Blue Eyes. To make this Gypsy Stallion appear like I remebered his, I removed all the color except his Blue Eyes

Spanish Horses

The Spanish Breed of Horses includes Andalusians and Iberians. They've become one of my favorites because they have amazing manes and tails and explode in front of the camera with flair

Imperio with Force “Imperio with Force”

Imperio powered into the rustic round pen with force and power - muscles and strength captured here.
