Fine Art Photographer and Abstract Artist David Perea was born in Arequipa, Peru. Having lived in and traveled throughout many countries, David considers himself a citizen of the world. He is now a California based internationally awarded artist and poet and his artwork has evolved into visionary dimensions that challenge impressions and perceptions of ourselves and of our planet. His passion for travel and curiosity for culture has allowed him to explore our planet through artistic and poetic dimensions.
David has published several multilingual books and ebooks of mixed media, art photography and poetry. David has experimented with several mediums, such as poetry, mixed media, and collage, but art photography tend to be his most preferred medium. Being a self-taught and self-represented artist gives him the freedom to express himself for the pleasure of expression. His artwork aspires to invigorate and exalt creativity as a vehicle to connect to the universe while looking within ourselves. His passion for travel and curiosity for culture has allowed him to explores the concept of surrealism through urban reflections.
His work has been included in the Photography Fashion Collection at the Fifth Annual Exposure Award 2015, presented at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. This is a single exposure photographic journey that explores the concept of surrealism through urban reflections. The abstraction of Maidens of the World explores concepts of philosophy through fine art photography.
This project wants to tap the creative powers of awareness and imagination by uniting illusion with reality. This venture tries to challenge the distinction between consciousness and physical matter, between mind and body.

These photographs are the artist’s perception of the philosophical aspect of illusion or Maya. Māyā, a sanskrit word, has several interpretations and may be understood as the phenomenal universe of perceived duality. Even though Maya is a controversial concept, the project’s approach is to discern duality through abstract reality.
These Maidens are trying to breath in an illusory multidimensional atmosphere, symbolism of the natural duality of the material existence. The material universe is made of matter and energy. In this context the reflections of the urban environment represent the spiritual world and the mannequins symbolize the material world. The impressions of Maidens of the world aim to explore the notion of duality as a representation of the physical body and the fine spiritual soul.
