Dr. Shannon has a doctorate degree in counseling studies. She made a career treating individuals and families for their mental health needs. Dr. Shannon grew up with a father who was an artist and mentor. After he passed in 2011, Dr. Shannon leaned into her art in his memory. Dr. Shannon returned to academia to complete a diploma in fine arts as well as formal art training, including masters level drawing, charcoal, and painting classes.
