CLARA FANTINI

Clara
Fantini was born in Genoa and studied painting in Rome at the State Institute
of Applied Arts. Since 1985, she has lived and worked in Kavala, where she has
developed a consistent and distinctive artistic practice. Since 1992, her work
has been regularly presented in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and
internationally, with a presence in major artistic centers such as Milan,
London, Paris, Rome, Shanghai, and Munich. Her practice moves between painting
and installation, with an emphasis on color and form.The year
2011 marked a pivotal moment in her career, with her participation in the
Venice Biennale as part of the “Padiglione Italia nel Mondo,” under the
presidency of art critic Vittorio Sgarbi. She presented the installation
Insieme, which was exhibited throughout the Biennale at the Italian Cultural
Institute of Thessaloniki and was included in the official catalogue Lo Stato
dell’Arte - State of the Arts, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi and Francesca
Valente. In the same year, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the
Unification of Italy, she donated the work Noi to the Italian Embassy in
Athens, where it was presented during the Republic Day celebrations on June 2.In 2013,
the installation ‘’Insieme’’ became part of the permanent collection of the
Regional Unit of Kavala, while her works are also held in public and private
spaces such as the Kavala City Hall, the Municipal Library, and the Municipal
Conservatory.In 2011,
her painting was also featured on the labels of the wine “Magic Mountain” from
the Nico Lazaridi Estate.In 2014,
she was awarded the Jury Prize at the 1st International Contemporary Art
Exhibition in Pesaro, and also received the international award “La palma d’oro
per l’arte” from Artexpò Gallery in Monte Carlo.Clara
Fantini is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece (E.E.T.E.).
