“Seduction of Suvannamaccha – Hanuman's Adventure”
The Ramakien, a Thai retelling of the ancient Indian epic the Ramayana, tells the story of the love between the monkey god Hanuman and the golden mermaid princess Suvannamaccha, the daughter of Thotsakan (also known as Ravana). Initially ordered to destroy the bridge that Hanuman was building to Lanka, she eventually helped him after falling in love with him. Their union resulted in the birth of their son, Macchanu.
This relief painting was handcrafted using multiple layers of polymer clay on an aluminium composite panel and baked for strength and durability.
Since ancient times, the owl has been a well-known symbol of wisdom, sagacity, night and the unveiling of secrets. This Alchemy Owl painting is my interpretation of medieval alchemical illustrations featuring owls.
Created by hand, the painting was designed to be the cover of the Alchemy e-book. Multiple layers of polymer clay were used to give the work a voluminous and embossed look.
This painting made from polymer clay symbolises the eternity of the established forms of the universe, the connection of the macrocosm (the large) with the microcosm (the small) and the harmony of individual and higher consciousness. Studying cosmic rhythms in the macrocosm (the universe) can help us understand the processes that take place in the microcosm (the human being). The movement of the solar and night celestial bodies corresponds with the movement of the solar and lunar energy along the subtle energy channels (nadi) of the human body. The sky goddess Nut is depicted in the mountain pose (Parvatanasana) and the earth god Geb is shown in Halasana (the Plough pose). The idea behind the painting comes from Kemetic yoga, an ancient Egyptian practice that focused on moving energy through the body to connect with one's higher self and the Divine Consciousness.
“Nammalvar – In the Hollow of a Sacred Tamarind Tree”
Nammalvar is a legendary Yoga Guru and divine descendant of Lord Vishnu. He is the progenitor of the Vishnu Yoga lineage and a highly revered saint in India, as well as a great protector and benefactor.
This painting depicts the flows of energy, especially the sacred fire of the Nabhi or Manipura chakra (the main storage centre for prana or chi energy in the body).
This relief painting was handcrafted using multiple layers of polymer clay on foam board, baked for strength and durability, and finished with a passe-partout and wooden frame.
This clay painting was inspired by the beauty of Sri Lankan nature. It is a great illustration of rural Sri Lankan life and the ancient Buddhist monastic tradition of bathing in waterfall pools. This is an actual location near a monastery, and I was fortunate enough to be granted permission to capture this scene in my painting.

Immortal Taoist accompanied by his vahana or riding animal — the Green Dragon.
The Celestial Emperor holds a flask containing the elixir of life in his right hand. The theme of immortality is emphasised by the silvery full moon, which emits soma or amrita. This highly beneficial image bestows health, protection and a long lifespan.

Sometimes, travelling to another country can feel like venturing to another planet. You can experience a wide range of emotions, from surprise to happiness, and recharge and rediscover yourself in the process.

Stilt fishing is a unique feature of Sri Lanka. Fishermen perch on cross-shaped beams, requiring a combination of balance and patience. This traditional fishing method is mainly practised on the southern coast. The fishermen look fantastic frozen in various poses in the vivid rays of sunrise and sunset.

“Birth of Sihina Loka (Dream Realm)”
'Sihina Loka' literally means 'dream world' in Sinhala. The painting's plot was inspired by Sri Lankan myths and legends, but mostly by my imagination. It depicts the Celestial City of the Rakshasas and their battle with the dragon at the dawn of Sihina Loka's creation.

Acrylic paintings created in my unique style.
This is my abstract expressionist still life, created using acrylics and featuring Cubist geometry, Fauvist colours and Orphist influences.
“Supernova – Cosmic Suprematism”
This unique painting is the first in a series of Suprematist illustrations on a space theme, created using acrylics (the original sketch was created in Adobe Illustrator). It was painted using a palette knife and a brush.
This is a fantasy surrealist self-portrait with a black cat. Both the person and the cat are depicted in the style of pointillism.
“Mermaid Dragon – Dream of a Buddhist Monk”
This picture shows that the entire visible and experienced world is merely a projection of the mind, a transitory illusion (Maya), which appears and evolves within the mind of the monk who experiences it. Myriads of transient thoughts are like waves on the ocean's surface, but our indestructible and unchanging inner essence (Atman) is as deep and immeasurable as the ocean's abyss. Although the visible world is impermanent and illusory, it can be very appealing. This attractiveness is symbolised by the monk's dog, whose attention is distracted by a sudden crab. The monk dreams about Galle and Rumasala Rock on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka.
Two dragons fly to their home mountain, which resembles Mount Fuji both in appearance and shape.
This is an illustration for a fantasy story about a magical garden isolated from the outside world, the girl who lives there, and the fantastic creatures that inhabit it.
“Sage of Arunachala – Eloquent Look of Sri Ramana Maharshi”
Sri Ramana Maharshi was an Indian saint and guru of Advaita Vedanta. He reached enlightenment at the age of 16, after which he left home and went to Arunachala Mountain, where he spent the rest of his life in peace and calmness. Arunachala is a sacred Shiva mountain which literally means 'infinite pillar of light'. Maharshi's divine appearance radiates compassion and inner peace.
I was inspired to paint this after visiting Tiruvannamalai and the Sri Ramana Ashram in 2022.
This bright, homemade bouquet of hanging lobster claw (Heliconia rostrata), limes, papayas and torch ginger (waxflower) captures the essence of an exotic, sunny tropical day and the natural lifestyle of Sri Lankans. The Torch Ginger plant produces ginger that can be harvested and used in cooking, while its flowers can be eaten raw after being chopped or served as a garnish. This still life was created using fresh fruit and flowers from a coconut plantation.
My visit to a friend's house and the beauty of the Sri Lankan countryside inspired this acrylic painting. It was created using a palette knife and a brush.
