I was born in Peru and raised in Southern California. Cal. State Long Beach, Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture, Mercervillle, NJ. Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA.
I draw, paint in oils and acrylics, sculpture in metals (casting and fabrication). My work is representational. Even my abstract sculpture is representational. I have lived around the country and taken that to my art. For me, I take from nature, architecture and the human condition.
Every piece has its story to share. The figures are about what makes us human. Every one has its significance towards an aspect of our humanity.
The following are a small cross section of my art. I draw, paint, make sculpture in metals, casting and or fabrication.
The weeping angel. The solitary one who will forever be in remembrance of. This is a grisaille painting in acrylics, on stretched canvas. It is not yet framed.
This is from a photograph I took several years ago. In the Southern California desert off Interstate 8. A small church in the desert. This is acrylic on board. It is not yet framed.
This is from a photograph I took around 1982, in central California off US 101. The serenity of the Royal Oak against wild grasses with gentle breezes. This is acrylic on panel. This is not yet framed
French for “without a care”. This is an edition
Bronze figure. Patinated and signed inside at bottom. She is edition number 4 of 10 (4/10). I cast this piece myself, as with most of my bronze castings. She represents a spirit a woman carries.
Solaz is a modified name for solace. I wanted the look of the name to be more dynamic.
Solaz is an edition bronze sculpture mounted to a fabricated marble base of my design. She is edition number 1 of 10 (1/10). She is a patinated bronze casting which I cast myself.
