BRIEF CREATIVE BIOGRAPHY
Taner Mert was born on 31.07.1972 in the town of Balchik. He is a contemporary artist living and working in Bulgaria. He develops a consistent independent artistic practice in the field of painting. In his work, he builds a clearly recognizable author's style, based on a specific working method and a highly individual visual language.
CREATIVE CHARACTERISTICS / AUTHOR'S TECHNIQUE
Taner Mert works mainly with acrylic on canvas. His distinctive artistic method consists of painting with the tip of an artistic spatula. Through this method, the author builds a fine relief and a dense textured surface in which every gesture remains visible. The relief is not decorative, but a carrier of the image and content.  Light interacts with texture and gives additional depth and spatial impact to the painted surface.
This approach clearly distinguishes Taner Mert from traditional painting practices and establishes his work as recognizable and original.
THEMATIC AND ARTISTIC ORIENTATION
In his work, the artist explores inner states, psychological tensions and emotional processes. His pictorial language balances between figurativeness and abstraction, with forms often implied and partially dissolved in texture.

Taner Mert is a contemporary Bulgarian artist, born in 1972 in Balchik. He lives and works in Bulgaria. His painting is distinguished by a clearly recognizable author's style, based on working with acrylic on canvas, executed entirely with an artistic spatula.
His artistic path began after studying interior design, where he initially realized interior and commissioned projects. A decisive moment in his development was his early success - his very first painting was sold, which directed his creative energy entirely towards painting.
Taner Mert developed his own interpretation of pointillism, in which the classical principles of the movement were rethought through contemporary sensitivity and expressive plastic language.  Inspired by artists such as Georges Seurat and Alfred Sisley, he builds on their ideas through dense texture, saturated color and strong emotional impact.
Characteristic of his work is the author's technique, in which the canvas is built from countless small, concentrated gestures applied with the tip of the spatula. The refusal to use a brush turns the relief into the main carrier of the image. Light plays an active role, interacting with the texture and changing the visual perception according to the position of the viewer.
Each work of Taner Mert is the result of a long, disciplined and physically engaging process, in which time, effort and matter remain visible. His painting combines classical tradition and contemporary expression, creating paintings with depth, dynamics and strong presence.
