My paintings grow from a place where imagination became a way to keep beauty alive, even when life felt complicated.

Rather than telling my story directly, I transform it into images filled with colour, wonder, and quiet symbolism. Dreamlike landscapes, flowing forms, and hidden details become places where freedom, hope, and resilience can exist side by side.

There is a softness in my work, but it should never be mistaken for fragility. Beneath the gentle colours lives an inner strength shaped by life’s experiences. It rarely asks for attention, yet it is always there, woven into every painting.

I don’t create art to explain the past. I create it to remind myself, and perhaps others, that even in difficult times, we can hold on to beauty, imagination, and the quiet courage to keep moving forward.

If my work offers someone a moment of peace, recognition, or the feeling that light can still be found, then it has done exactly what I hoped it would.

Helga Renders is a Belgian visual artist creating contemporary paintings and sculptures inspired by nature, memory and inner transformation. Blending instinct with technique, her work explores identity, strength and growth through layered imagery, color and light.

Sculpture: 6-year study, graduated in 2025 from the Academy of Visual Arts in Herentals
