I produce sculptures that have iconic values, such as sacred symbols, shields, tools, ancient keys and utensils.
All of these images invoke and trigger intuitive curiosity and past memories.
The Illuminated Shields and Illuminated Bambo series developed from my work with neon. I was looking for 'containers' to hold the light.
I have been very interested in pure color and the illuminated properties of precious gases. The dichotomy of the two mediums works very well for me.
Lately, I’ve been exploring texture, controlled rust and patinas.
