Art San Diego

Pieces I plan to enter in the 2023 Art San Diego contest.

Side Stroke “Side Stroke”

Oil paint and cold wax on panel. Framed with a simple silver frame. 24 x 30 ». It is a painting filled with energy caught in a moment of time

Shhhhh “Shhhhh”

This is a feminist assemblage, created to draw attention of the diminishing opportunities for women in our current political situation. The figure is created out of papier mache, and the objects from my achieves of accumulated bits and pieces.

Tethered to the Future “Tethered to the Future”

This assemblage is from my collection, She / Her. A papier mache figure housed in a vintage sewing machine drawer. A feminist story is told here, about the hardship women face juggling family and career.

Beauty Pageant, Malibu “Beauty Pageant, Malibu”

Being a Southern California girl, growing up on the beaches in the 60s and 70s, created a series of beach paintings, Beach Blanket Bingo, of which this is one. It’s 30 x 40, oil and cold wax on aluminum panel. Love the rythme and intense colors here.

Pinus Pinea #2 “Pinus Pinea #2”

A love of trees, bright color, and bold layout, is what this painting is all about. Stoney Pines, edging the Mediterranean, appear like giant umbrellas through out this part of the world. This piece is 40 x 45, oil and cold wax on wood panel.
