Although not a formally trained artist, I have been involved with art in one form or another my entire life. I’ve recently transitioned from oil painting to acrylic. I am experimenting with translucency of watercolor within the framework of acrylic painting. This particular series of paintings was inspired by the concept of shapes that are traditional and understandable placed into abstract and unidentifiable settings. I want to invite the viewer to look deeper into the layers of the painting.
In this particular series of paintings, I was exploring the concept of shapes that we are all familiar with and creating visual images to interpret them in new ways. Maureen is an adjective.
