Nathalie D Gribinski

Nathalie Gribinski is a French–American abstract artist whose work explores the rich landscape of human feelings through vibrant color, rhythm, and imagination. Born in Algiers and raised in Paris, she first pursued law before discovering her true path in art. A move to Chicago marked a turning point, where she earned a B.A. in Graphic Design and embraced painting as her life’s vocation.

Her early memories of Algeria and summers in Provence shaped her palette, infusing it with luminosity and warmth. While largely self-taught as a painter, her training in design informs her dynamic compositions, which blend abstract expressionism and surrealism with playful forms and bold palettes. Gribinski works across multiple mediums, including acrylics, oil markers, gouache, and ink.

Influenced by Van Gogh, Picasso, Miró, Dalí, and Kandinsky, her work is celebrated for its energy and spontaneity. A landmark moment in her career came when Christine Ruiz Picasso acquired one of her paintings from her signature Tourlicoulis series, affirming her artistic path.

Over the past decade, Gribinski has exhibited widely in Chicago and France, earning recognition in international art contests. Recent series, including works inspired by animals and fantastical creatures, have been developed into a book and giclée prints. For her, painting is both a profession and a life force — a way to connect, uplift, and offer viewers freedom through color and imagination.
