Gavin Jordan

Gavin Jordan is a Miami-based mixed media artist working in acrylic, chalk, and oil on canvas. His practice, Chalkline Figuration™, merges realistic figuration with symbolic abstraction to explore memory, identity, and resilience.

Jordan's method is systematic and layered. He begins with an acrylic chalkboard ground, then places chalk symbols intentionally across the surface, each marking invisible emotional and conceptual structures. Oil paint follows, rendering figures in full color and dimension. The chalk remains visible, holding the composition. This three-layer approach directly mirrors how memory works: we feel, we name, we live, we carry forward.

His earlier works has been exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Museum in New York (Making Home exhibition, 2024–25). He showed internationally at Museum im Kloster in Bersenbrück, Germany (2025) and exhibited at Spectrum Art Fair Miami (2023).

Jordan brings a structured perspective shaped by 25 years as a senior finance and operations executive. His paintings are constructed, not improvised. His series are architected bodies of work exploring specific emotional territories.

Currently developing two series: Songs of the Unbroken, centered on resilience and play in Caribbean childhood, and Testimony, exploring love as a system. His work is available through inquiry and select gallery partnerships.
