Carol Ames

Carol Ames is a California native with a passion for animals and art.  Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Carol was fortunate to have been exposed to a wide range of art and artists.  She is a graduate of San Francisco State University where she learned the basics of working with various mediums, developed her techniques, and ultimately found her niche working with pastels, allowing her to become more intimate with her works, using her hands and fingers as the "brush" to create her works of art.

After earning her Pet Portraits certificate from London Art College where she really found her passion for painting animals, Carol made the decision to focus her artistic abilities on those that she loves most - animals!  Having lived on a farm in Oklahoma for fifteen years, Carol has had lots of "models" to work from: dogs, cats, ducks, guinea fowl, peacocks, and horses.  Now living in Southwest Florida, she has found a passion for painting local animals such as manatees and dolphins.

Carol's love of animals and passion for art offer a perfect blend to allow her to give back to others who love animals as much as she does by creating customized, realistic Pet Portraits for families who love their furry friends.
