Patricia Udokang is a contemporary visual artist working in acrylic and mixed media. Much of her work carries the rhythm of music, a lifelong passion, as she was a classically trained singer performing in operas, light operas, musicals and choirs. Her daughter's sudden passing in 2022 made it difficult to create, but painting has since become Patricia’s way of healing—therapy for a broken heart.
Embracing bold colour palettes and dynamic movement, Patricia’s art is guided by intuition and emotional resonance. Through expressive compositions and layered textures, her paintings evoke emotional landscapes, creating a visual symphony of rhythm, harmony and energy. Each painting is an invitation to feel, reflect, and to step into a world where colour meets sound. Like music, painting soothes her soul.
Patricia has featured her art at both Canopy Studios and local art shows in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In 2026, her work, Rainbow Rhapsody, was honoured with an Art Star Award in the 2026 CFA Artist of the Year international competition, presented by the Circle Foundation for the Arts, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey. The award-winning piece and three other works were later featured in Art Stars Magazine, a digital publication created in collaboration with World Wide Art in March of 2026.
Patricia continues to develop her distinctive artistic voice, creating works that celebrate the harmony between colour, sound, and human experience. She has been inspired recently to interpret poems, such as Robert Frost's "The Road Not taken", weaving into the paintings her life experiences.
