A combined effort at first brought on by a need to express the rise in consciousness of humanity from the fires, the ashes, the scourge to one of hope. A rebirth as such to the endless possibilities newness, trustworthiness that moral sinew, valor and virtue acsension to the higher realms bring. The painting could best be depicted in oil; permanence to seal its validity in time. What better subject matter than an ethereal being.
Night. Various emotions arise in us at different points within a day leading us to recognize or attune ourselves to our emotions. I personally prefer the dawn, it awakens in me newness, rightness, a connection to beginning something new, apart from the day, the creative expression that light brings. But night holds for me a different expression - too much of everything. Too much longing, suffering, unknowing uncertainty... The dark holds mystery, but not of a good nature, care always has to be taken, lest you lose something. Grey is stable it doesn't jump out at you so placing every medium on top of it allow the emphasis to be placed on the subject, that illuminated bloody moon. The silver metallic lining drips off the moon's surface along with the pain into the rippling black tide.
