MONIKA WRIGHT AT THE TORONTO ARTIST PROJECT

Canadian artist Monika Wright creates expressive abstract paintings that reveal dynamic elements of color nuance, of magical light that glows amidst the darkness, of brushstrokes that are both wild and gentle, conveying movement and mindfulness. Monika will be participating at the Toronto Artist Project, February 19th, beginning with a preview and gala opening reception to Sunday, February 22nd. This juried art show features 250 artists from across Canada and beyond. PARAMARIBO IN DECEMBER

While many in Suriname is hoping for a "Dry Christmas", as it is just the period of the small rainy season, I am now the exception who waits for a downpour in the early evening. You Council it all, then I might be the exception to go in the city to photograph. If you want to shoot extraordinary photos I advise you go on a wet evening with camera and tripod to visit the inner city of Paramaribo. The rain gives reflection on the asphalt, but also near the light. My wish for the coming year is visually captured: "that the light in the coming year may seem".
