WHEN COLORS FORGET THEIR NAMES

posted by Patrick Joosten

In When Colors Forget Their Names, Patrick Joosten surrenders the canvas to pure chromatic instinct a world where blue no longer submits to its definition, where red bleeds freely into the unknown. True to his self-taught philosophy of unbridled creativity, Joosten builds the surface through sweeping vertical gestures and richly layered acrylics, as if the painting itself is caught mid-transformation, refusing to settle into any recognizable form.

EMOTIONAL STATA

posted by Waldemar Tłuczek

The painting explores the problems increasingly experienced by contemporary society: emotional problems. Excessive emotion is initially an unnoticeable problem, when we no longer cope. First, we feel regret, then resignation, depression sets in, and we need help. When we enter a state of depression, the body and soul slowly turn into an unfeeling rock, and the personality fades away. The Gate motif in the painting symbolizes the place where a difficult phase in life ends, where we leave our problems behind. After the Gate closes, a new phase can begin, a kind of rebirth of the soul.

I'm excited to be returning to the wonderful The Lochcarron Treehouse, in the middle of woodland by the river Abhainn Bhuachainn. My fragmented floral paintings will be surrounded by nature's elements in this magical hideaway. You'll find a marvellous selection of original paintings, prints, cards, calendars and notebooks here. Come along, fill up your art-senses and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. I look forward to seeing you!

The Hood It was pouring rain I found shelter behind a glass wall.He kept on walking, determined, his head covered with the hood. I chose to take a BnW image wanting to give priority to contrast, form, texture (of the rain),give the photograph a timeless feel. And primarily I was looking for a silhouette.
