Erikanart

Erikan Ekefrey was born on April 16th 1981. A Nigerian from Akwa Ibom State He studied art at the Federal College of Education in Akoka, Lagos. Bodies of his works are in the Museum of Modern Art Equatorial Guinea and Several Galleries in the U.S.A and Africa, Erikan uses Acrylic paint on canvas and mix media has his medium; He was trained by his father Emmanuel Ekong Ekefrey who is a renowned Artist in Nigeria and Europe. Their technique is unique in Nigeria and the world and depicting his cultural heritage with the use of non-figurative images to express feelings, motions and emotions.
Most of the colors that he use are complementary or analogous colors in nature. He is inspired by the culture, everyday life, Music, Dance, Language, traditional dress and ceremonies. Certain colors that a person may wear reflect a particular event and also represent a particular tradition. These colors may symbolize happiness, peace, love, sadness, and mourning.
