This body of work is an ongoing exploration of anxiety and mental health, expressed through a combination of oil pastels and acrylics. Each piece emerges intuitively, guided by emotional states rather than predefined concepts, allowing the process itself to become part of the narrative.
The works move between figurative and abstract forms, reflecting how anxiety can shift—sometimes visible and identifiable, other times diffuse and difficult to grasp. Layered marks, restless lines, and contrasting colours evoke internal tension, repetition of thought, and the feeling of being both overwhelmed and deeply aware.
Philosophically, the series considers anxiety not only as a condition of distress, but also as a space of heightened perception. It reveals the mind as an active, complex landscape—one where fragility and strength coexist. The recurring motifs, fragmented figures, and organic structures suggest cycles of thought, vulnerability, and the continuous attempt to find balance.
Rather than offering resolution, these works create a space for recognition. They invite the viewer to confront, reflect, and perhaps find a sense of connection within shared emotional experiences.
This series is deeply personal, yet intentionally open—allowing each viewer to bring their own interpretation, memory, and feeling into the work.
