Joanna is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, poetry, and sculpture. Her practice is guided by a sensitivity to inner states and the quiet tensions that connect them. She approaches portraiture as a space of emotional resonance rather than representation, exploring presence and restraint, and treating the human face as a landscape of emotion and perception. Her abstract works carry the same sensibility, translated into rhythm, color, and atmosphere.

Her process moves fluidly between mediums, reflecting a cyclical approach to creation and finding balance in the act of moving from one to another.

Trained at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Lima, Peru, she earned a BFA in Illustration with a minor in Art History from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, graduating with highest honors (SCL), and continued her studies at the California Institute of the Arts. Her work merges traditional and experimental techniques, gouache, acrylics, watercolor, alcohol inks, and digital post-production, to create pieces that are both precise and contemplative, grounded in observation and transformation.
